When I saw Mario Moretti’s prison diary for the first time, I was overcome by emotion… I felt as if something had taken hold of my heart and would remain there forever. Then, as I started to read, I understood that the words on the pages narrated a message of passion and values that could not be ignored. In a concentration camp, Mario Moretti, exhausted by hunger and suffering, gave up even his daily rations of food for art.
